Wu Pottery
Doreen Spears nee Goh (Wu) qualified as an architect from Sheffield University and worked 11 years for The Salvation Army Trustee Company afterwhich in 2000 she retired to take up pottery.
Her work uses various clays ranging from delicate porcelain animals to structural crank garden pieces and a dark earthenware for handbuilt artwork. Her interest also encompass raku and thrown lidded jars.
Her influences come from nature,both flora and fauna and her travels particularly to Cambodia, Finland, Crete and the Far East.
